Slept well, save for bolting wide awake around 3am. But got back to sleep and slept until 08h00 local time. Je me lêve, je me lave, je m'en vais. Breakfast, coffee, some networking. I'm chatting away to my PhD supervisor and she says "so what session will you go to now?"
"My own, I'm giving my paper in 527."
"Well, you were supposed to start it 7 minutes ago..."
*runs up stairs*
The audience was amenable to my grovelling, and the paper was well-received. Sometimes at these conferences I get an audience of only 2: today was 12 or so. Very pleased with it overall. I remained at the conference for the entire day (I usually feic awf for a bit in the middle), and the Associations' AGM was 16h-18h. Je ferai des choses à faire, mais ça me plaîs beaucoup.
I asked one colleauge about dinner; she had a meeting. I schmoozed the other homos, but no invite was forthcoming and I wasn't keen on possibly getting shot down again. So I was trudging back up to the dorm when another colleague tooted her horn and said "get in, we're going to dinner." We, it turns out, was 20 of my new friends. And it was fun, though I could have easily left an hour earlier.
