jawnbcI'm an obsessive-compulsive-type-A+++ personality when it comes to air travel. My husband is not, which requires me to feign chilling and being normal when it comes to taxis, airports and (especially) customs and immigration. When all the kewl kids know that you have to stride towards the podia as quickly as possible. Otherwise the Immigration Fairie™ will place an entire Air China 747 full of unilingual Mandarin speakers in front of you.
So I fairly climbed over everyone and everything just now: I am sated. And seated, in the lounge. I was gonna give myself a treat and have a real Coke...but then where's the treat in late onset diabetes?![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
querrelle has turned me into a healthy eating, physically active shell of my former self. I mean, I made room for my rollerblade pads, in case I find somewhere to rent some.
But then again I had McDo for lunch. With a real Coke. I have a Big Mac exemption from the Diet Coke policy.
It's a 9 hour flight to Heathrow and I've a 2 hour connection for the 1 hour hop to Dublin. But I get to clear customs at LHR, where I re-check my bag and switch from T3 to T1:UK/Eire. In Dublin I merely wait for the bag whilst practicing the correct pronunciation of "fook". As in, "where's da fookin' bus?"
I will update from time to time, contingent on net access and free time. I've been to Dublin several times and have most of the obvious touristy things. My accommodation includes an Irish brekkie every morning *squee* so that'll get me up and about. I train to Belfast Monday late morning. My room there has ethernet (it's at Queen's Uni), so you'll get more of the nosehair trimming updates in 4 days' time.
Yet again I will be absent from Canada on Canada Day. But at least not in the US for the 4th. Nothing personal friends...just not my cuppa.
