winter holidays

After crunching the numbers, Oz and NZ just aren't in the cards this year: airfare alone during the holidays would be over $4500 for the 2 of us. Next year.

Instead we're off to Puerto Vallarta. I've been twice before but it'll be querrelle's introduction to Mexico. We're booked for the first 2 weeks in December, staying here (room 6, US$57/night). Flying Alaska Air, with whom I had a US$50 companion ticket coupon. Except for meals, sundries and transfers this will work out to about $1500 for the 2 of us.

Sounds awesome. I've never done anything like that and would like to one day.
T and I are going to Australia via Japan and I couldn't be more excited. We'll be away 5 weeks altogether I think. Our flights were $1850 each (including taxes etc) flying JAL with 10 days in Japan on the way there and 1 night on the way back. We were pretty damn happy with the price!

sounds fab! I went once via HKG (no stopover) and it stuffed me up for days. We want to avoid the US because of querrelle's citizenships and 'the war on terror' (UK and Oz).
