Operation Bievenue Chers Amis Canadiens is going well. Last night
querrelle and I hosted
toneyvr and Jocelyne for dinner chez
querrelle. I cooked aubergine parmagiana, as per
querrelle's request. Strangely, though we've been friends for 10 years, Joce's never had it--perhaps because Noel her other half tends to stop breathing when she consumes dairy products. And this dish is all lovely gooey with parmesan and mozzarella cheese. Bambino, bambino, como vai?
Later, after they returned to my apartment,
querrelle and I used the alien birthing device. And had a lovely, restless night cuddling and snuggling. I've decided I prefer sleep deprived than spend too many nights apart. This morning I was awoken with piping hot tea and the words "your bath is drawn, sweetheart." What a man, what a man, what a mighty good man.
Yes. He is.
We've also finalized plans for travels to Queensland. We'll be based in Airlie Beach for 4 nights, which should allow lots of time for snorkelling and such. And relaxing. Initially he wasn't gonna come, but
querrelle changed is mind--woo hoo!
Today I've got a shiteload of work to do. Laundry is in the dryer. We'll have a light dinner here, followed by Sundat at the Shift. If you don't like ABBA, stay away from the Shift--particularly on Sundays.

Date: 2003-07-20 01:43 am (UTC)Slice one large or 2 medium eggplants/aubergines into 1/4" slices and lightly salt. Dip in raw egg (beaten) and breadcrumbs with some italian herbs added, and fry lightly in extra virgin olive, until golden brown on both sides.
In a bake pan, put layers of:
+shredded mozza, with sprinkles of fresh grated parmesan
+eggplant slices
+tomato/pasta sauce (prepared in advance. From a jar if you like, or with your own mélange of garlic, onions etc. Meat or not, though mine's veggie)
Pack by firmly pressing down after each layer of eggplant is put in. Sprinkle top lightly with more mozza and parmesan.
Bake in oven at 375F/200C for 20 minutes (30 if you used cold sauce). Quick brown the top with your broiler to make the cheese on top nice and crunchy if you fancy--I sure do.
Serve it like lasagna. Should make 2 good sized trays. And it's better the 2nd and subsequent days...
Mangia bambina! Mangia!

Date: 2003-07-20 07:39 am (UTC)Hmmmm. :) I'm stumped, but it sounds fascinating.
Must think about drawing a bath for Alan sometime, perhaps with pointed hints about a return favor at some point. Think I've leave Woody to his own devices ... I'm not up to his rather higher standards as far as comfort experiences!
Max's fabulosity quotient keeps exponentiating. You're gonna make me jealous, and that's saying something.
