Re: #39, when I first moved out here, I wasn't feeling very good about the decision. I was walking home from grocery shopping, thinking about a lot of different things, and I heard someone singing a song I recognized as one of the songs that was part of the standard repertoire for the African music group at CalArts. So I found the guy singing it, and got talking to him. (Turned out he was from Ghana.) At first it seemed like he was just saying nonsense, but it turned out he was talking about just about everything I'd been thinking about moments before. Was really strange. He had somewhere he had to be, and I had my stuff to get back to. Never seen the guy after that, though. (had my ear to the ground, and none of the people I know who work with the homeless had ever seen the guy I met.)
