Celebration of Light

I love Vancouver almost always, but especially this time of year.

Tonight was the 3rd of 4 night of the Celebration of Light fireworks festival. After Canada (meh) and the US (pretty good), China was up tonight. The first 8 and final 5 minutes were spectacular: lots of Olympic rings, 8s and effects that flick those switches in the brain that make hypereducated adults moan "ooooh......ahhhhhh."

A couple of colleagues came over as well. Cheap n cheerful chicken dinner, good company, hawt husband. And watching the fireworks from our roof is pretty fucking awesome too!

I keep missing it. I just stayed at home and did stuff. Oh well. Saturday there's both fireworks and Pride. Hopefully no conflict between the Surrey yahoos and the West End locals will happen.

*wonders why she hasn't invited herself over for fireworks yet* -- man, I hated that about living (with a view) in the West End... four nights per year I was everyone's best friend.
