As much as I have lived near the ocean and 3 yrs living in Biscayne Bay (Miami), the one fear I have is being alone in the ocean (swimming or stranded). It's a fear of the unknown really but, after having lived in the bay here I know there are some big fish out there. Yes, I'm afraid of being bitten by a shark even though all the sharks I've encountered has been small and not harmful to humans. Somebody needs to take me by the hand and comfort me while I'm out there trying to learn to get over my fear.

Also, in case I don't say before you leave, have a safe and pleasant flight back home.

I guess the beauty has to override the fear. I'm the same way with forests/bush walks as you are with deep water.

Very nice...what kind of camera were you using?

it was a Fuji disposable underwater 35mm camera, designed for use up to 10m deep (there are also ones for up to 5m).

Jawn... I LOVED your photo's... I can't believe that you got such great shots with a disposable!!!! Your trip to Airlie beach also looked like it was a great time... brought back memories of Ed's and My recent frolic in the northern sun.,....

I bought an underwater too... the color balance is off but they work okay. The do need some digital color corrention. Maybe I should give that as an assignment for my photo digital imaging class...
