Haven't blogged about it in a while. But it's all good. In fact, it's all great. I'm working on great projects, with great people, in a great environment. I've landed some teaching for the summer, which will help clear out some lingering debt.
It's all such a change from just 6 months ago, when every day was stress-filled, I felt unsupported by my bosses, and putting the rest of my entire life on hold was apparently not good enough. The paradox? I'm working better, producing better quality stuff, and having more fun.
Tomorrow I'm off for another snowboarding weekend with VANOC colleagues; this time to Big White, outside Kelowna (in the Okanagan; google it). It'll be fun, but 5 hours each way on a bus. I keep forgetting that probably means most everyone else will be getting liquored up. Meh: I've got conference abstracts to review and I'll just be sure to get a seat near the front.

Date: 2009-03-27 05:48 am (UTC)Meanwhiles here, I'm wondering whether I'll have a job with my current employer by the end of the year. Some restructuring and potential drop in revenue from customers cutting back on orders make for redundancies and whilst I think there are things happening in my group that make me feel a little safe that we'll be spared I'm not sure that a higher command will just mean that someone/s will have to go.
Oh well, in the meantimes, I just keep plodding along and look for inspiration amongst others who find themselves "groofy".
