Everyone here loathed Turkey. Not because of the song, necessarily, but like Finland (which I didn't expect to qualify!), the vocals were painful in places.

But they were still faultless in comparison to Bulgaria. Oh dear GOD.

I tried to watch it but none of the 5 TVE channels we get it on DVB broadcasted it on TV, so I had to use the shitty TVE webpage. Then I switched to Andorra TV, which had a smaller image but far better quality.

I can't but agree. Turkey was mediocre on stage and Bulgaria was laughable. Then what was the guy with the falsetto voice?

The web stream through Eurovision.tv (using the octoshape plug-in) really was almost HD quality. I heartily recommend watching it through your TV.

Bulgaria was the counter-tenor. Thursday's semi-final is much more competitive and may well produce the winner.

TVE will show it, but can show it on any of their networks. Tomorrow night you get to vote too! Each of the Big 4 countries and host (Russia) are "assigned" one of the two semi-finals, which they must show and conduct a televote.

Andorra was mad because originally Spain was allocated to last night's semi. Andorra likes the points its Catalunyan cousins sends it.
