Reply to this meme with a simple "Words!", and I will give you five words that remind me of you. Then post them in your journal, and explain what they mean to you. Courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] arktos62 :

Olympics
I have been a huge fan of the Games since I was 8. And have been a huge supporter of Vancouver hosting them since I moved here in 1989. But working there nearly knocked the snot out of me. Still, I'm volunteering, I've got a bucketload of tickets, and it's going to be wonderful!  And I hope Canada breaks its curse and wins many gold medals (we're the only country to host twice and not win a gold medal on home soil either time).

Canada
I don't like it when people proclaim their country is "the best." But Canada's the best for me: as a true progressive, a queer, a gay man, someone committed to social justice, someone who thinks flannel shirts are hawt. Give me my higher taxes and fewer handguns. And poutine!

Academia
I still consider my self to be an academic; this no doubt irks some profs here at the university. Wot. Eva.

Erin
I didn't really understand the idea of genetic memory until I wandered the streets of Dublin as an adult. I consider myself me-ish, but a huge slice of that is Ir-ish. It includes the best (love of words, sense of humour, lust, firehydrant physique) and worst (self-righteousness, pugnacious, sloth) of me.  But I wouldn't drop a drop. An' we fookiin' own...

Eurosongs
Even if we didn't own the frickin' contest I'd love Eurovision. It's silly, well-produced, highly entertaining, and wonderful for the fab and naff bits. And nothing is hawter than chubby furry gay boys *squeeiing* the words to In Your Ey-ey-ey-ey-eyes. Nothing.
