seemed like a good idea at the time
Sep. 15th, 2009 07:19 amThis morning is phase one of getting 6 crowns. I'm getting them all done simultaneously, so today will be reducing my 6 front teeth to the nubs needed to host crowns. I will be in the chair for 3 hours. I figured this is better than living in all crowns all the timeland for several months. If all goes to plan I'll have a gorgeous new smile in about 3 weeks' time.
Thanks to me and
querrelle both having pretty good dental coverage, it should cost me about $60 per tooth. Once it's all done I'll post (behind a cut) the before and after. And these are necessary because of the teeth being in bad shape, not for vanity's sake. Though I have to admit I've been rather reticent in smiling the last few years because of a widening gap between my front teeth. No disrespect to other folks with a gap, but it makes me feel like white trash.
Soup and crackers are on standby; ditto the tylenol with codeine. By the time I get home my pal toneyvr should have signed off on my very late arriving Snow Leopard disc. This arvo will be about installing SL on my MacBook and exploring further our Telus TV. So far the picture isn't as crisp as Shaw, but it's much cheaper and the channel selection is much greater.

Sadly, even if I had GREAT health insurance, I would probably only get $400 back from a $2000 procedure, so I just bite the bullet and get crowns as I need them... (excuse the pun! LOL)
