Well the procedure went well really. I was there early, and in the chair shortly. I only needed one pee break over 3 hours and didn't get stressed at all. Maybe that was the valium I took? Anyway, the dentist largely whacks the outside off each tooth, leaving a a core upon which to mount a crown.
He did the six teeth in the middle upper part--the smile essentially--and then put two temporary "crowns" on. Really they're more like temporarily bridges: one on each side, with each one covering 3 teeth. Shortly thereafter I was sent to the folks who make the crowns, and I got to choose the colour!
Best part? It'll all be over next Wednesday morning. Yup a one week turn-around.
Worst part? The amount of freezing he used. Holy Mary Mother of Gawd my face was numb from the corners of my mouth up to my sinuses. Took a good 5 hours to wear off.
