Oct. 7th, 2009 07:17 am While I am not thrilled with how quickly our days are shortening, I am loving our bright autumn days. Every morning this week I've awoken to amber skies silhouetted with purple mountains. In the evening these are swapped for pink skies. It really is picture perfect. Last year we had a proper autumn here in Vancouver in terms of the leaves changing colours. I see the colours coming along in our trees as well. Gorgeous!
We are in the final stages of the kitchen renovations.
querrelle has installed the last cabinet and the knobs and handles. Tonight or tomorrow I'll be shifting the cutlery, pots and pans to their final homes. Then the last of the kitchen gear will be moved out of the living and dining rooms. He's done a marvellous job; being so handy puts his Egan membership in jeopardy though.
I am drinking tea in bed whilst puttering. I bought a ukulele yesterday. Life is good. :)

When he was in middle school he threw out a cup of yogurt, exclaiming that it was spoiled. It was fruit on the bottom and he didn't stir it before he dug in.
Such is the Egan culinary prowess, as inherited by your nephew.
Jessica is still infamous for exclaiming "Wait, you mean it's not butter?" while spreading I Can't Believe It's Not Butter for the hundredth time at your mother's house.
Such are the Egan powers of observation, as inherited by your niece.
Jennifer can balance a bottle of Jack Daniels on her forehead while funneling a beer.
Such is the Egan sobriety, as inherited by the eldest of your lateral progeny.
I learned how to tie my shoelaces only after Jessica showed me about five hundred times when I was in kindergarten and she was in preschool. She also taught me how to snap my fingers and ride a two-wheeler.
Such is the Egan dexterity as inherited by yours truly.
A wonderful gene pool, isn't it?
