Poor [livejournal.com profile] querrelle has had to work much of this weekend. I've had more than enough to keep me busy though. Friday night was happy hour, followed dinner on the coach with my beloved. We were big arsed party boyz and stayed up 'il midnight W00000t!

Saturday Himself went to get beat up by some old Chinese fella; I copped a ride from him in search of a new broiler pan. Our new stove has a mini-oven that has a broiler, but our broiler pan is too deep. Canadian Tire? Ben non. Homesense? Ben non. La Baie? Sears? Non, non, non, non. Well, the Bay had one for $125. Fook that...

I prepared a gorgeous steak dinner for us, then we went ice skating for the first time this winter. Adult only skate at the West End Community Centre is great: it's usually less than 15 skaters and no fuckwit teenage boys channeling their sexual urges into horseplay on-ice. But I know when to say when and we only did a quick session. Then it was telly time, then sleepy time. It inspired me: I decided to register for skating lessons after all. They start tomorrow night. Operation ex-ould-fat-fook begins anew...

Today we had a lovely brunch at the Tea House in Stanley Park. The fall colours are peaking right now, especially the japanese maples, which are red, golden, and brown. Since [livejournal.com profile] querrelle is back to work I made sure to send him off with a smile. I've swapped out the summer and winter clothes, will do some recycling, then some grocery shopping.

With just under 4 months to go, Vancouver is starting to feel like an Olympic city. Buildings are getting their look on, the official Super Store opened recently, and vancouver2010.com just got its Games-time makeover (take a look; it's stunning). Later this week the Olympic Flame is lit in Olympia Greece; it arrives in Victoria on 30 October to start its 106 day journey around Canada. Next Saturday I have my second (and I assume final) training session for my volunteer role. This is job-specific training, where I'll learn about how to do my job. And, hopefully, get a peak at the new uniforms!

There's also one more round of tickets going on sale in November. Might see if there's anything worth grabbing...
