After a lovely, chemically enhanced 10 hours of sleep, I awoke to my lovely husband's return to our room with McDo's breakfast. Very noice. We puttered, abluted, then went downstairs for a coffee in the hotel's café.

"Table for 3?" the hostess asked. Max absentmindedly nodded, not realizing another man on his own was in his blindspot. "No," I protested "she thinks that guy's with us. Max waived me off; must want a larger table than a simple deuce.

So I go up to check out the buffet and hear "so what else." I only know one person in the world who says that ALL THE FOOKIN' TIME. But he lives in Sydney...

"Marko!" Had I a plate I'd've dropped it. Yes, Max and Mark conspired 9 months ago to surprise me. And Mark's here for our entire visit. Marvellous, absolutely bloody marvellous!

After breakfast we hit the town. Got our Octupus cards (great system), grabbed the MTS to Hong Kong Island (we're staying in Kowloon), and followed in Max's footsteps (he lived in Hong Kong 1997-1998). We did some electronics shopping, grabbed a cawfee, and took the Star Ferry back to Kowloon. Shortly we'll head down to the in-house pool and jacuzzi; later we'll grab some dinner.

I am not an easy person to surprise. I feel incredibly loved. And as this holiday seasons has been very difficult with Mom gone, I feel like someone pushed my reset button.
