Mac OS X DVD ripping

I give up, after trying a few things from Version Tracker and oogling a bit. Anyone got any suggestions? I’m looking for a good simple app to change region settings, isolate the core parts of the disc and set it up to burn on my new DVD burner. Gots me a pile of DVD-Rs and ready to rip.

Sadly, I've resorted to using a DV cam to capture video from DVDs then bring it into iMovie.

This is _so_ not the answer you're looking for.

dunno. i asked my other half, and he suggested DVD Studio Pro (but it's expensive as hell -- however, if you don't have 'issues' with pirated software, there are copies out there to be had).
