cartoons, Aussie and Indie style
Apr. 1st, 2006 05:17 pmThere's been a bit of a discursive dust-up between Indonesia and Australia. And it's included some cartoons--sound familiar? The catalyst was the granting of temporary refugee status (of a sort) to several Papuan Indonesians by Australia.
First an Indonesian newspaper came out with this lovely example of the expressive arts:

Dude in the front is Australian Foreign Affairs Minister Alexander Downer. He's being pumped from behind by the Right Honourable Little Johnnie Howard, Prime Minister of Australia.
An Australian paper returned the favour:
