The last 2 nights in a row I went nordic (cross country) skiing in Stanley Park--something one gets to do perhaps a couple of times a decade, since downtown Vancoouver is the last place snow starts to stick. And the first place it starts to melt, being at (mostly) sea level and all. Here's one kewl-ish (though not crisp) photo I took last night with my eejit camera:



And here's one of our view this morning. On the odd occassion we are snow bound here on the Wacky Wet Coast™, the clouds usually obscure the mountains. Everyone here was abuzz with the magical mountains across the Sound:

"see ya honey, I'm skiing into work today"... you know, I just can't picture it, living in Belgium :-)
We get snow about three times a year, for about a day, and the whole country panics and comes to a standstill: massive traffic jams and whining. Hilarious, especially compared to Vancouver!

Did you know we reached 16°C here two days ago? Autumn sure isn't what it used to be...

Totally OT: I really hope the new medication works out for you. You're too fabulous to be plagued with selfdoubt and depression.

Sounds a lot like Vancouver. Minus the mountains of course. We like having winter a 30 minute drive away, while the city just gets very very very wet.
