Just in from seeing Mambo Italiano, a deft little comedy about life, love and that gay thang. Set in the Italian community of Montréal. Reviews have been mixes, but my pals all thought it very good.

Not "pretty good for a Canuck film" good. Very good. Clever, warm, engaging. Oh, and some hawt manmeat too.

What was surprising is that Mary Walsh, aka Marg Delahunty, was the weak link in an otherwise strong cast.

You'll laugh, you'll cry, you prolly won't hurl, but you may get a stiffie. Vas-y donc.

What Canadian cinema needed were some moola and excitments ... now, Van is fastly becoming "LA North" and Tronto is sucking up post-production projects, we are finally absorbing some moola and technical expertise ... I doubt our lives will ever be as dysfunctional as USers to be exciting though!! Try to imagine a Canuck version of Bowling for Columbine? = P

Wow ... bone-chilling *grins* ... and the title of the documentary should be Curling for Regina

I can't help laughing ...
